Pure Paint for Now People addresses the vibrancy and complexity of contemporary painting, bringing together the work of established and emerging painters in a dialog on the ongoing and always contested place of painting in the art world of today. Issues of representation, materiality, and the influence of technology will be explored through a selection of works that both affirms the place of painting in contemporary art and simultaneously acknowledges the ways in which painting adapts itself to new imperatives, orthodoxies, and proscriptions in the broad context of art.
